'A giddy interview has again shone a light on the whole operation'

The current international window is one of the most vital periods for Ireland when it comes to potential qualification for Euro 2016.

Yet sandwiched between an ultimately mouldy friendly against England and what could be fruitful a match against Scotland, is a €5M paté of fallout involving John Delaney, FIFA and the FAI.

The Irish Independent's Dan McDonnell joined us on Off The Ball to analyse that situation and what could happen in the coming days, weeks and months, although he explained why the players and Irish management will not be distracted by events:

As for the team to face Scotland, Dan says the back four which faced England (Coleman, Wilson, O'Shea, Brady) will remain intact in front of Shay Given, while he also expects Glenn Whelan and James McCarthy to feature in the centre of midfield, Aiden McGeady and Wes Hoolahan starting, along with two of Jonathan Walters, James McClean and Shane Long.
