Diarmuid Connolly named on the bench for Dublin's trip to Omagh

Dublin star Diarmuid Connolly is in line to make his first appearance of the year for Dublin after being named on the bench for the All-Ireland champions' clash with Tyrone in Omagh.

The forward, who made his last Championship appearance the Dubs in the 2017 All-Ireland decider against Mayo, will be an option for Sunday's final Super 8s clash.

Connolly spent last summer playing football Stateside with Donegal Boston and looked set to head back over for 2019 but for an issue with his ESTA visa. He has since returned to the inter-county set-up, with Jim Gavin last month confirming that he had returned to the squad.

The Dublin manager has decided to shuffle his pack, with a number of fringe players coming into the starting line-up. Jim Gavin's side have already booked their All-Ireland semi-final spot, with tomorrow's game a decider for who tops a group, which also contains Cork and Roscommon.

Eric Lowndes lines out in the half-forward line, while Cormac Costello is promoted from his role as 'impact sub' to starter against Tyrone.

Rory O'Carroll comes into the defence at corner-back for his first start since returning from New Zealand, while Eoghan O'Gara is named at full forward.

Kevin McManamon also gets the nod in the full-forward line.
