Irish boxer Jason Quigley shared his disappointment with Eddie Hearn on Friday's OTB AM after the famed promoter questioned his fitness and conditioning over the lockdown period.

Amid rumours that the Donegal native is gearing up for a potential clash with Saul Canelo Alvarez, Jason Quigley used his appearance on this morning's show to address recent comments made about him by promoter Eddie Hearn.

Hearn, who currently promotes the likes of Anthony Joshua and Katie Taylor, had been looking for Jason Quigley to fight the English middleweight Jack Cullen as part of his Matchroom Fight Camp series. For reasons now apparent in Quigley's potential bout with Canelo Alvarez, the Donegal native pulled out of the proposed bout with Cullen, however.

It was a decision that irked the London-born promoter.

"It baffles me, some boxers that haven’t been able to get themselves ready," remarked Hearn, alluding to what he believed was Quigley's inability to get himself in shape for the bout, "maybe I don’t know the full story [but] it was disappointing."

The allowance for error he left himself aside, Jason Quigley wasn't impressed with Hearn's loose suggestion.

"I've been slated by a certain promoter that I can't keep myself in shape," he remarked on Friday's OTB AM. "I thought it was very unprofessional of Eddie to come out and say that.

"He is not my promoter, he has nothing to do with me and for him to come out and say that ... I mean I've never missed weight in my life, I'm always in shape and I've taken fights on one week's notice before.

"So, I was a little bit taken aback by what Eddie said because yeah, it was very unprofessional the way he said. It was a little bit slack on his behalf because he should know there's always stuff happening in the background.

"I had to bite my tongue anyway and stay quiet awhile because I knew there were bigger things on the horizon. Yes, it got to me when I heard it but ... maybe if words comes out about this fight with Canelo now he'll think whether he should have said it."
