OTB Sports, in partnership with Cadbury FC, are kicking off a brand-new series of in-depth chats with some of the biggest names in Premier League and Irish football history.
To get the ball rolling, two Donegal natives and Republic of Ireland goalkeeping legends, Packie Bonner and Shay Given, will sit down with OTB Sports' Joe Molloy for an intimate chat.
Bonner spent his entire career at Celtic in which he played 642 times between 1978 and 1998. In that time, he won four Scottish league titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups.
Bonner is perhaps best remembered on the international scene, where he earned a total of 80 caps for the Republic of Ireland.
Playing a vital role in goals at Euro ‘88, Italia ‘90 and USA ’94, Bonner is remembered for his famous penalty save from Daniel Timofte of Romania at the 1990 FIFA World Cup which sent the team to the quarter-final for the first and only time to date.
Shay Given has played 134 times for Ireland, making the ex-Newcastle United and Manchester City stopper the second-most capped player in Irish history, behind Robbie Keane.
The Donegal man has kept 52 clean sheets for Ireland between 1996 and 2016 and was a member of the squad during the 2002 World Cup, Euro 2012 and Euro 2016.
At club level, Given spent the majority of his career at Newcastle United where he honed himself in being one of the best 'keepers in the game, making the Premier League Team of the Season for 2001/02 and 2005/06.
