'I like No 11 and Horan asked me to do a job there' - Aidan O'Shea

The last time Mayo won four Connacht titles in a row, they went on to win an All Ireland title.

But that was way back in 1951 and many a generation of players has been unable to bring Sam back to the western shore.

Aidan O'Shea has suffered final heartbreak in two All Ireland finals. But he does have many a Connacht title in his cabinet and in the wake of Sunday's win over Galway, the midfielder joined us on the line.

But he was named at centre-forward against the Tribesmen and enjoyed the run out in that position.

"It's not something new to me. I've played there in my minor days where I played number 11 and I play there a lot for the club," said O'Shea.

"I like number 11 and James [Horan] asked me to do a job there yesterday. It might change the next day, I'm not sure. But I definitely like it up there."

He also added that he does not see himself as a "wrecking ball" type player, admitting that working on skills is just as important as any physical attributes he brings to the table.

O'Shea also chatted about the achievement of winning the four-in-a-row and where the fourth title ranks compared to the previous three.

He also believes that the test provided by Roscommon in the earlier round will benefit Mayo more than in last year's Championship, also discussing how the team may peak going into the latter rounds of the All Ireland.
