Dublin's Brian Fenton and Limerick's Cian Lynch claimed the top individual honours at the PwC All Stars awards at the Convention Centre in Dublin.
Kerry youngster David Clifford capped a fine debut year with the seniors as he was crowned Young Footballer of the Year at the gala black tie event.
Meanwhile, Lynch's fellow Limerick All Ireland winner Kyle Hayes won the Young Hurler of the Year prize.
Speaking after picking up his award which saw him beat Dublin team-mates Jack McCaffrey and Ciaran Kilkenny to the individual prize, he described it as bittersweet.
"It's probably bitter-sweet I suppose. I recently rediscovered a picture of the three of us playing together at U-12. It was a North Dublin development squad at the time and in the team-photo is myself, Ciaran, and Jack, so that shows just how far back we go together," said Fenton,
"Jack didn't play much in the League but was Man of the Match in the semi-final and final. And Ciaran just set the standard for all of us this year really, so I certainly couldn't have begrudged either of them this award.
"So, to win it is very special, but it is bitter-sweet because they're some of my best friends. Look, I'm sure they're very supportive and happy for me as well, and I would have been equally as delighted for either of them if they'd won it. Yeah, it's very special."
Meanwhile, Lynch admitted he was stunned to be honoured with the Hurler of the Year award.
"It never actually came into my head that I could possibly get it. It was a great year for Limerick as a team and that was the only thing that I looked at around the start of the year and even since the 19th of August. Anything after that was a bonus," he said, having been informed at the start of the week.
"I was questioning whether I'd tell the mother and father or not and I kind of said to myself that I won't. It would be a great night for them to come up, they're coming up expecting nothing, and to see me go up and collect the Hurler of the Year Award is going to be extra-special for them.
"Because, at the end of the day, it does go back to the mother and father. They were there with me since Day One and it's an absolute honour to get it."
While the PwC All Star Football Team of the Year was revealed on Thursday, the Hurling Team of the Year was announced at the Awards Night:
