Cian O'Sullivan on 2014 Donegal defeat: We've learned to keep our composure when we go behind

Leinster champions Dublin are due to face Ulster champions Tyrone in a highly anticipated All-Ireland semi-final later this Summer.

Mickey Harte's Tyrone are a well-organised, defensive unit and will pose new problems for the All-Ireland champions.

Dubliner Cian O'Sullivan reflected on the 2014 loss to Donegal and explained how it has shaped the current squad.

Speaking to Off the Ball's Dave McIntyre, the Dublin footballer said: "The first thing you note is that you probably learn more from your defeats and it's unfortunate but that's the way things are.

"We had high hopes for that year in 2014 and were beaten by the better team on the day - there's no 'ifs', 'ands' or 'buts' about that.

"Donegal beat us and they deserved to get to the final, we didn't. Shipping the two goals in the second half - they were just sucker blows.

"It was a bit helter-skelter for us after those two scores went in and we probably lost a bit of our composure so to say Jim's become obsessed with breaking down ultra-defensive teams, I wouldn't say that's the case, it's probably a bit of a stretch. I'd more so say our resilience and being able to respond when the game goes away from you when you do ship two goals like that - I think that's the real thing.

"I think we learned so much from that game for that reason and we've been in situations similar to that the last couple of years and I think we've responded a lot better and I think we've become a better team for that reason," he added.

O'Sullivan went on to discuss the much-anticipated up-coming match against Tyrone and the full interview can be heard here:
