It's everyone's worst nightmare. You start feeling unwell and take a trip to the doctor and an agonising wait for test results. What happens next is in the lap of the gods.
One Tipperary woman is currently dealing with life changing news.
Amanda Stapleton is a 31-year-old teacher from Borrisoleigh in county Tipperary.
This summer, she received the devastating news that she has an inoperable brain tumour.
She is currently undergoing treatment in London, where she has lived and worked for the past seven years and is no longer in a condition to work.
What do you do when a loved one gets news like that?
Do what you can to make them comfortable.
The Stapletons are well known and respected in the vicinity.
Amanda has two All Ireland winning brothers.
Paddy who hurled with distinction for Tipperary and Shane who made Cuala his home from home and carved out a national media career as a familiar name on the national airwaves and on the country's back pages.
Now friends and the local community have rallied around to try and help with the journey ahead.
The Borrisoleigh club have organised a hurling challenge benefit game on this Saturday November 3 at 6pm featuring some of hurling's greats.
Legends of the game from the past decade will come together for Tipperary v Kilkenny: The Legends Return.

There is a marquee and live bands following the game. Adult tickets are €20 and under-16s are free, so go to Centra or Tickets.ie for yours.
