"Con O'Callaghan Will be The Same Relentless Animal In The All Ireland Final"

Dublin selector Declan D'Arcy says the All-Ireland Football Championship final is "just another game."

Immortality beckons for this group of Dubs as they aim to win a hat-trick of All-Ireland titles. Mayo are looking to secure their first crown since 1951.

For D'Arcy and the players it is just another game, a part of the much talked about process:

"We're very clear in what our job roles are and we keep very focused on that, we do it right throughout the year.

"We prepare every game the exact same, this game will be different then it was to to the Carlow game, it is the exact same process.

"We'll be ready for any eventuality, but we're prepared for Mayo because we know we're going to get it."

Con O'Callaghan has cemented his place in the Dublin team and the Cuala dual star appears guaranteed to win the Young football of the year accolade.

The forward has shown class and composure beyond his years, D'Arcy feels the 21-year-old will shine on the biggest stage:

"He epitomises all the work that was put in at under age structures, Dessie Farrell had him at under age and he produced him to a level that he can now play with the seniors within a year.

"That was reflective of Ciaran Kilkenny, Paul Mannion and Jack McCaffrey when they came on the scene they were able to quickly participate with our team at a very high level.

"That's great credit to all the coaches at underage, he's a great attitude he's worked diligently hard, Jason Sherlock has just been fantastic with the forwards as well.

"(The success) has only been what Con deserves, he's been relentless in pursuit of what he wants to achieve, I'm sure he'll be the same relentless animal when he plays in the All Ireland final."
