Cork appoint All-Ireland winning boss Counihan as Project Co-ordinator for Football

Cork County Board have appointed Conor Counihan as their Project Co-ordinator for Football.

He takes up the newly created position on a three-year term as part of the 2024 Five-Year Plan aimed to revive the fortunes of Cork football.

Counihan won two All-Ireland titles as a player and also managed the Rebels for five years between 2008 and 2013, winning three Munster crowns, four Allianz National Football Leagues and the 2010 All-Ireland.

Cork chairperson Tracey Kennedy feels the Aghada club man was the ideal person for the role.

"We are delighted that Conor applied successfully for this position, which is vital to the future of Cork football.

Conor brings with him a huge amount of experience in all aspects of Cork football, along with a passion and drive that is immeasurable, and on behalf of the County Board, I would like to welcome him to our team and wish him every success in this new role."
