Cork's dual-star Walsh to concentrate on only one sport from 2015

Cork’s dual-star Aidan Walsh admits he will have to pick either hurling or football next year at inter-county level.

The Kanturk player says that dual-inter county GAA is something he has no intention of doing again next year – or even for the rest of his career.

Cork’s hurlers reached the All-Ireland semi-final, losing out to Tipperary, while Kerry beat the footballers in the Munster Final. Cork then went out of this year’s championships when they lost to Mayo in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.

Walsh admits he has not chosen which sport he will concentrate on yet, but when he does come to a decision, he will stick with it for the rest of his career.

The Irish Examiner are reporting that Kilkenny county board will appeal against any proposed punishment against manager Brian Cody for remarks made about All-Ireland final referee Barry Kelly.

Cody described a decision Kelly made against Brian Hogan in the first final as "criminal."

The Cats’ county board has yet to receive communication from the GAA’s Central Competitions Control Commission, but it's believed they will defend their boss should he be sanctioned.

Neil Gallagher says he will still be available for Donegal next season. It's speculated that some members of the football squad will retire, but 31-year-old Gallagher says he'll still be available if called upon.

Last night the county board appointed a five man selection committee to appoint Jim Mc Guinness' replacement.

Yesterday, the former Mayo manager James Horan became the front runner to take up the Donegal position, when his odds on getting the job were slashed - though it is Newstalk's understanding that Horan isn't interested in the role.
