REACTION | Dean Rock's business initiative divides opinion

Dublin senior footballer Dean Rock has launched a free-taking initiative, which has divided opinions among GAA supporters and volunteers.

Rock announced his plans on Twitter on July 7th, saying: "Proud to announce this initiative that I have been working on. The Dean Rock Free Taking Project is aimed at nurturing current & aspiring free takers of all ages (juveniles & adults). News of an upcoming event very soon."

The 'Dean Rock free-taking initiative' promises to "accelerate your progress by becoming obsessed with the detail and learning how to cope with the pressure."

Rock continues: "My aim is to inspire and educate current and aspiring free-takers in the game. The project will involve the development of each individuals own free-taking process through teaching cues, purposeful practice and the subsequent evaluation of this practice."
The initiative promises workshops, weekend academies, small group sessions and private sessions.
But it is the apparent pricing system that has people concerned about the project - one-to-one sessions have been mooted at €350 for the first two sessions and €200 for each after that.
With two attendees, €400 for first two sessions, and €240 for every following session.
With three attendees, €550 for first two sessions, and €330 for every following session.
For four attendeees,  Rock charges €650 for the first two sessions and  €400 for every subsequent session.
