Declan Browne: How Tipperary react on Sunday could be key to making history

With Tipperary and Mayo meeting in the All-Ireland semi-final this Sunday, Declan Browne believes that there's more to this game than an underdog story.

Tipperary have cultivated an impressive run of results en route to this stage of the championship with scalps over Galway and Cork already in the bank.

Their last defeat was at the hands of Kerry in the Munster final, with a flurry of goals leaving the Premier County 10 points adrift at the final whistle.

And former Tipperary forward Declan Browne predicts that this Sunday's clash against Mayo could take a similar shape to the Munster decider, in terms of playing styles.

"I'd see this game going like the Munster final for Tipperary. I would hope that we've learnt a lot from the Kerry game more so than the other games. We played wonderful stuff (against Galway) because we were let so; the challenge for Tipp on Sunday is when things aren't going their way, how do we react?"

He continued:

"Mayo are, in my eyes, far superior to Galway and I said it at the start of the year, they're probably the only team I could see beating Dublin but Liam Kearns has got everything spot on so far, so I'm sure he'll have something in the locker for Sunday."

Meanwhile, James Horan advises that Tipperary should avoid playing through channels where Lee Keegan and Colm Boyle are positioned, otherwise their attacks will be snuffed out:

"If Tipperary try and solo through there, they're just not going to get through. In terms of physicality, Mayo have a huge advantage there so Tipperary will have to adapt."
