O'Callaghan fires Dublin into fifth consecutive All-Ireland final after 10-point win over Mayo

Dublin scored 12 unanswered points, including two Con O'Callaghan goals, in a 15 minute period after the restart to inspire their 3-14 to 1-10 All-Ireland semi-final victory over Mayo in Croke Park.

Jim Gavin's men trailed by two points at the break following Mayo's dogged and determined first-half display, but the class of the reigning champions shone through to advance to a fifth consecutive All-Ireland final.

The Connacht side matched the Leinster champions in the opening 35 minutes thanks to efforts from Cillian O'Connor, Seamus O'Shea and the returning Colm Boyle.

Brian Fenton and Mick Fitzsimons kept the Dubs in touch at the break, but the decisive period of the game came during wave after wave of Blue attack at the beginning of the second half.

Dean Rock's effort in the 36th minute was followed by O'Callaghan's first goal of the afternoon. Ciaran Kilkenny put the Dublin forward through and the Cuala clubman made no mistake as he first past Rob Hennelly.

Niall Scully and Paul Mannion added scores moments later as Dublin blitzed James Horan's men. Seven minutes later O'Callaghan added his second goal of the afternoon.

Fenton added a third goal shortly afterwards to complete the rout, while Lee Keegan had the ball in the net for Mayo in the hopes of igniting an unlikely comeback.

In all, Mayo were restricted to just 1-02 in the second half and finished the game with 14 men after Cillian O'Connor's red card.

Dublin will now go on to meet either Kerry or Tyrone in this month's decider, a game which will decide whether they land an historic Drive for Five.
