Dublin set for their first outing of 2018 on January 3rd

Dublin will begin the 2018 season with a game against Offaly or Wexford on January 3rd.

The reigning All Ireland champions have been placed in group 1 of the O'Byrne Cup, their second fixture will come 4 days later on January 7th.

The semi-finals will take place on January 13th / 14th, with the final being played on January 20th / 21st.

In the Walsh Cup, Pat Gilroy's Hurlers will go up against Antrim & Meath.

The semi-finals will take place on January 14th, with the final being played on January 21st.

Both tournaments operate in a round robin format with the top team advancing to the semi-finals.

The Dubs go into the tournament as defending champions having defeated Louth to recapture the crown by 2-16 to 1-10 in last year's final.

The tournament has provided a platform for the Dubs second string to impress. Paul Clarke guided a young side through the tournament as Jim Gavin and the 2016 All Ireland champions took a holiday to Jamaica.

Niall Scully was the breakout player from last year's crop, he cemented his place as a starter as Dublin made it to the Allianz League final where they lost to Kerry, before going on to have success in the Championship.

He started the Leinster SFC final victory over Kildare and came on in the All Ireland final as Dublin defeated Mayo by a point.
