Dublin's Sinead Goldrick: "For us to get over the line today is a feeling that I'll never forget"

Dublin's Sinead Goldrick couldn't hide her delight after three years of pain as her team beat Mayo in the final of the TG4 Ladies All-Ireland Senior Football Championship.

It finished 4-11 to 0-11 and speaking to Off the Ball's Oisin Langan after the match, she said: "I'm just delighted. Especially the last three years - it's a lonely place when you lose an All-Ireland. This feeling is something you need to put effort into to and to work hard so for us to get over the line today is a felling that I'll never forget.

"I was out for the majority of the League but that was a good thing - I took a step back and I could see the amount of effort that our team was putting in and I've huge admiration and respect (for them).

"When you're involved in it, sometimes you don't see how hard everyone's working and the effort that the management team are putting in so to take a step back at the league - I just have a huge admiration for the workrate the players are putting in and the work that the management are putting in too.

"Mick (Bohan) and his management told us to play with freedom and I think in the last 10 minutes we took our shackles off and we're 32 people in our panel and every single one contributed to this today," she added.
