Four games to watch out for in next years Championships

The 2015 All Star awards have yet to be handed out, but the draws for the 2015 and 2016 Football Championships have already taken place.

Here are four games to keep an eye on next Summer in both codes:

Derry v Tyrone

The Ulster Football Championship always throws up intriguing ties and Derry's clash with Tyrone is the stand out fixture of the Ulster quarter finals. The match also pits Damian Barton in his first Championship match in charge of Derry, against the experience of Mickey Harte and his Tyrone side. The two sides lat met in the 2009 Ulster semi final, which Tyrone won by eight points.

Galway v Mayo

No disrespect to London, but we are assuming Mayo will defeat the Exiles in Ruislip to set up a semi final showdown with Galway. The two teams met at the same stage this year with Mayo winning by four point. Galway will look to try and stop Mayo from winning a historic six Connacht titles in a row and with Kevin Walsh entering his second year in charge of the side, the Tribesmen may have a chance.

Cork v Tipperary

As many football fans wait with baited breath for the pairings drawn in Ulster, hurling fans wait for the Munster draw. Cork and Tipperary were drawn the short straw and must face each other in the quarter finals. Both teams will have new managers next summer in Michael Ryan and Kieran Kingston who will hope to get their Championship tenures off to positive starts. The last time the sides met in Munster was in the 2012 semi final which Tipperary won by a point

Kerry v Offaly

It is a sign of the trajectory of both teams in recent years that they are to play each other in a Hurling Championship game next summer. Kerry won the Christy Ring Cup this summer and defeated Antrim in a play off to earn their Leinster Championship status. Offaly will hope to advance from the Leinster Qualifier Group and play either Galway or Laois in the quarter finals, but it will be interesting to see how Kerry cope against the Offaly side managed by their former manager Eamonn Kelly.
