Horan: Mayo have had time to iron out their kinks

Ahead of the latest chapter in the Kerry Mayo rivalry, James Horan joined Off The Ball this evening to preview the clash.

With much of the focus ahead of the game being on how Mayo can contain Kerry target-man Kieran Donaghy, James believes Mayo should focus on their own game:

"You're looking at making sure you're right first and foremost and that you keep doing what's got you there and where you're strong, you keep doing that."

,

He's not bought into the idea that radical changes are on the way from Mayo, such as Aidan O'Shea dropping deep to counter Donaghy:

"Some of it to me is crazy stuff altogether. I think it's important that Mayo look at where they're strong and then look at the opposition and what they need to do to minimise the threat that they have."

While he states that an ideal summer schedule would be to play once every two weeks, he believes that any "kinks" Mayo had have been ironed out as they have taken the scenic route to the semi-final.

Kerry have had few problems during their Championship run, but Horan believes that they are masters on managing a campaign like this, when other teams may be undercooked.

He added that after all of the focus on Donaghy he could become a bit-part-player on Sunday as Kerry mix and match between long balls and hard running attacks.
