In Pictures: Templemore end long Harty Cup drought

Our Lady’s Secondary School Templemore have ended an almost four decade long wait for the Harty Cup after defeating St Colman’s College, Fermoy.

Templemore CBS had not won the trophy for 39 years since their 1978 victory, but a commanding 2-22 to 1-6 triumph at Limerick's Gaelic Grounds brought an end to the drought.

In the intervening 39 years, they had lost four finals since the turn of the Millennium but that pain has now turned to joy as they claim the Munster schools' competition.

Most recently they had lost 0-11 to 0-8 at the hands of Ardscoil Ris, Limerick in the 2016 final.

St Colman's were looking to claim their 10th title and first since the end of their three in a row in 2003.
