Is Eamonn Ryan the key behind Cork's success?

Cork's ladies footballers remain one of the most dominant teams in Ireland. They have won nine of the last ten All Ireland titles and they face Dublin this Sunday in Croke Park looking to win their tenth title since 2005. Sunday's game sees a repeat of last years final which was one by the Munster side by a point.

Four time All Ireland winner with Mayo Cora Staunton joined Ger last night on Off the Ball to look ahead of Sunday's showpiece. Staunton also won nine All Stars with Mayo between 2000 and 2013.

The Carnacon star gave praise to Cork ahead of the game and said Dublin need to prepare for Sunday as its a "new year and a new game". Dublin's mental strength will be crucial if they are to overcome last years loss according to Staunton.

Eamonn Ryan has been in charge for their nine All Ireland wins and Staunton says the Cork manager is up there with the likes of Brian Cody and Mickey Harte in GAA stature. He "could be a top men's inter county manager" if he wanted to be.

"The experience and the knowledge" of Ryan is crucial to the Cork team. Staunton feels that the players look on Ryan "as a father figure".

Staunton said she "finds it very hard to back against Cork" and expects Cork to win by "two or three points".
