All-Ireland champions Dublin won this season's Leinster title with a nine point win over Kildare at Croke Park on Sunday.
Jim Gavin's charges scored two first-half goals as they ran out 2-23 to 1-17 winners.
Gavin was pleased with his side's display and speaking to Off the Ball's Oisin Langan after the match, he said: "Yeah there was a great battle out there this afternoon. We got off to a good start in the first quarter with two very well taken goals and Kildare came back in that second period and tagged on a good few scores to put four points in it at half-time.
"Their supporters and their team went into their dressing room with a pep in their step. It's a break in play at half-time and we re-set and re-focused and I thought in the third quarter we looked very controlled and we tagged on maybe 10 points during that time.
"That said, Kildare came back into the game and had great shot and great save by Stephen - that would have brought it back to three points but from then on I think we just closed it out," he added.
However, the Dublin manager voiced his concern about the state of the pitch after the surface was replaced due to a recent concert.
"That part of the pitch has been replaced from the concert last weekend," he said, adding: "It wasn't great now for both teams and is probably something the GAA need to have a little reflection on. The groundsmen did an excellent job - an outstanding job to turn it around so quick but going into a provincial final, is that the right thing to do, to be replacing that part of the pitch?

"I don't think it's a complaint but you could certainly see both sets of players slipping on that part, it was very hard and that's one thing I'll say about it."
There has been some controversy over the weekend with the advantage rule not being implement properly in a number of matches. Dublin were denied a goal late on when the ref brought play back for a free and commenting on the issue, Gavin said: "I think it's a great initiative first and foremost by the rules committee.
"But for Paul, there was a definite foul there, he raised his hand, I couldn't hear the whistle but if it's there, it needs to be used and just the let the play (develop). I think you have five seconds but I don't think supporters will mind if it goes over by a second or two," he added.
