Kerry's 'Bomber' Liston on Cork: "They're always capable of taking a scalp"

Kerry and Cork square off in the Munster Senior Football final this weekend in one of Irish sport's biggest rivalries.

Former Cork footballer Niall Cahalane and one of his great rivals from Kerry, Eoin 'Bomber' Liston, joined Friday night's Off the Ball to look ahead to the big clash.

Cork haven't beaten Kerry in the Championship since 2012 and speaking to Adrian Barry, Cahalane expects it to be another difficult game for the Rebels.

"The thing about Cork is that they're coming into the game on Sunday as one would say, underdogs," he said. "They haven't performed terribly well in the National League or in the two Championship games to date.

"But again, we spoke earlier and 'Bomber' mentioned that Munster finals take on a life of their own and I would be expecting a big performance from Cork on Sunday."

Asked whether Kerry are the closest challenges to defending champions Dublin this year, 'Bomber' Liston said: "I think probably Tyrone (as well), throw Tyrone up there with them.

"I think Kerry have proved in the league with that performance (against Dublin at Croke Park) that when they play well, they're well capable of beating anyone. I think with Cork while they're going through a bad stage, there's no doubt that Cork are always capable of getting a scalp.

"I don't think Cork will win the All-Ireland this year but they're certainly capable of getting a scalp and I'm hoping it isn't Sunday," he added.

The pair also discussed their battles over the years and you can hear the full interview here:
