Galway hammered Donegal by 4-17 to 0-14 to advance to the All-Ireland quarter-final on Saturday.
Three first half goals arguably killed the game off by the break as the Tribesmen put their poor showing in the Connacht final behind them with an emphatic win at Markievicz Park.
Speaking to Off the Ball's Dave McIntyre after the game, Galway manger Kevin Walsh said: Yeah, we got the first two points and we went three-two up but found ourselves five-four down, if I remember correctly, or definitely four-all and I suppose at that point...we were winning some dirty ball that we hadn't won before that.
"But I suppose after that, the fact that we kept winning a lot of the breaks - we came off the shoulder quite well and we were fairly clinical in the first half so the goal chances came and we took them."

Reflecting on the poor start against Roscommon in the Connacht final, he said: "It was the first 15 minutes really. It's been over-analysed as been really, really bad and maybe it was bad but every time we tried to come back - there was a goal against the run of play or a few woeful decisions that certainly took momentum off us but that happens as well.
"At the end of the day, the first 15 minutes wasn't good enough and I think in the Connacht final they had something like 15 shots in the first 20 minutes and only had three the next 20 so it wasn't a case of the whole game but certainly wasn't good enough the way we started off."
Coming out for the second half, it was imperative that Galway kept the scoreboard ticking over to avoid any fight-back from Donegal. "Certainly we said 'stick to what we're doing well' and obviously Donegal were going to get a purple patch at some point but it was important we stuck to what we were doing."
