Cork senior football manager Brian Cuthbert believes the 2015 Division 1 league campaign will test his panel's mettle.
Cork opened the new year with a resounding 7-20 to 0-4 win over Mary Immaculate College in Mallow as they build up towards the National League.
"It's a very difficult Division 1 this year. But what other way would you want it? It's really going to test the character of the squad. We have to go up to the North four times and have the Mayo, Kerry and Dublin games at home. Every week is going to be a difficult task which is what you want," he said.
Cuthbert also discussed changes to his backroom team as well as the impact of former dual players opting for the hurling panel instead.
