Limerick see off Galway to book their place in the Under-21 All Ireland final

Limerick will take on Wexford in the Under 21 All-Ireland hurling final after they beat a Galway side who stuck with them for much of the game.

At one stage in the first half, Limerick had pushed themselves into a six point lead, but Galway were able to peg them back and go in at half-time level with 0-10 a piece on the scoreboard.

Although they briefly traded points after the break, Limerick began to cone again pull away, with David Dempsey grabbing a few scores when it really mattered to help push his team on.

The goal for Limerick came through Tom Morrissey, who had put an earlier chance over the bar, but when his second bite of the cherry came along later in the half he made no mistake and  slotted it into the Galway net, despite the fact that it looked as though the chance may have gotten away from him when he hit the ground.

The timing was crucial as it put Limerick six clear and the game beyond Galway's reach. Despite superb performances up front from Jason Flynn and Brian Molloy for the Tribesmen, they were unable to pull the gap any closer, as Limerick kept their six point cushion until the final whistle, winning by a score of 1-20 to 0-17.
