Stephen Rochford has committed to Mayo for 2018 and beyond.
The Ballinrobe man has led the county the All Ireland finals in 2016 and 2017, losing to Dublin by just a point on both occasion.
He succeeded joint managers Noel Connelly and Pat Holmes, who stepped down in September 2015 after a vote of no confidence by the playing panel.
Rochford was granted a fresh term at last night's County Board meeting, and will remain in charge until 2020.
He’s yet to win silverware with Mayo in the Championship; they crashed out of Connacht at the semi-final stage after losing to Galway by 1-11 to 0-15.
12 months earlier they lost by 1-12 to 0-12 against the Tribesmen at the same stage of the competition.
A Mayo statement confirming the decision to offer the manager a new term said: "Following a meeting of the Mayo county board in Elvery's MacHale Park tonight Mayo football manager Stephen Rochford has been given a two-year extension to his current deal meaning he has been ratified until 2020.
"His backroom team will be confirmed in the coming weeks. All involved with Mayo GAA thank Stephen & his team for the all the time & hard work already contributed to the Mayo Senior Football team and are delighted he has committed to Mayo GAA for the coming years."
