"My worry for Kerry is the Donaghy effect"

Kerry are into yet another All-Ireland final after a pulsating win over a battling Tyrone yesterday.

But former Meath star Anthony Moyles has concerns over the tactical problems Eamonn Fitzmaurice and the Kerry players have when Kieran Donaghy is starting as he told Off The Ball tonight as he, our own Colm 'Wooly' Parkinson and ex-Mayo and Armagh forward Billy Joe Padden analysed the first football semi-final of the year.

"My worry for Kerry, and we said it after the first Cork game, was the Donaghy effect. When they play Donaghy, if they don't use Donaghy correctly - they didn't use him correctly yesterday - they basically end up in a situation where they're trying to force balls into Donaghy or they're looking to him at different times and if it's not on they're still doing it and then when Donaghy goes off, they start to play a bit better football," said Anthony.

Billy Joe also added that Donaghy and other forwards do struggle early on "against the real good blanket defences" and that he would have more space in matches against the likes of Dublin and Mayo, one of whom they will face in this year's final.

Wooly also picked out the kickout issues that Tyrone had against Kerry, while Anthony highlighted the Ulster side's issues in front of goal.
