WATCH: Paul Sharry explains why he'd like a Champions League format for All Ireland

This weekend, Paul Sharry will be hoping to secure AIB Leinster Club Football Championship glory when his St Loman's side take on Moorefield on Sunday at O'Moore Park, Portlaoise.

The Westmeath inter-county player got a score in the semi final win over Simonstown Gaels two weeks and after that obstacle was overcome, he joined Nathan for a chat looking ahead to the final step for St Loman's.

But the former League of Ireland soccer player with Shamrock Rovers also discussed the challenge at inter-county level for counties like Westmeath and whether a sort of B Championship is the way to go. A different format would be favoured by Sharry rather than a two-tier format.

"It's basically just intermediate and senior. No one likes change as the old saying goes. It might benefit in a way, if you look at it because Westmeath isn't the only kind of team that's struggling at the inter-county level. There's loads of counties that struggle and wouldn't be able to stand on the pitch with the Top 5," he said.

"There's probably a good bit of logic behind but personally, I'd rather the Champions League approach. I'd rather that one where it's divided into groups. It would lead to more games, lead to a bit more competitiveness and lead to a lot more teams seeing the end of the season rather than it just being knockout, back door, knockout, 'see you after'".
