Seamus Flanagan on Cork draw: "It was a hard fought battle out there"

Limerick's Seamus Flanagan was happy with a draw against Cork and is hoping his side can carry their good form into their remaining Munster Championship matches.

It finished all square in a dramatic clash in Paírc Uí Chaoimh and speaking Off the Ball's Dave McIntyre after the match, he said: "We're thankful to come out with a draw. It was a hard fought battle out there and in the end we were pushed right to the wire by Cork all the way through.

"I suppose it was tough enough with a man sent off there in the first half - it put our backs against the wall but we believed in ourselves and came in at half time, re-assessed, changed the tactics to suit our 14 men and thankfully we came up with that point at the end. It's going to prove to be crucial towards the end.

"People came out and we've an exceptionally young team - I think the three oldest that's there are straight down the middle; Nickie Quaid, Declan Hannon and Graeme Mulcahy. I came through the academy with the rest of the lads and it's, kind of, clicking there now.

"But, you know, we still have a lot to do - two more games in two weeks and it'll really test our bottle and hopefully we can do the same against Waterford next week and Clare the weekend after.

Asked about the difficulties he had being isolated after his side went a man down, he said: "You're always battling when there's three-on-two inside but I just went up to John (Kiely) and asked him what was the best situation and himself and Paul came up with the answers and we went along with that.

"We've great belief in what John and Paul say to us - they tell us what to do and we're always allowed to play with that freedom as well and you saw that in the second half - we were still getting ball when we were out-numbered."

Limerick host Waterford next weekend while Tipperary host Clare.
