GAA weekend reaction | The football and hurling Championships are back in full swing

The Championships are back in full swing, with the Munster hurling championship taking centre stage over the Easter weekend.

The Leinster hurling Championship got underway on Saturday, with Westmeath losing out to Kilkenny and Dublin beating Laois.

However the talk of the Leinster championship was Henry Shefflin's Galway, who blew an early lead to salvage a draw against Wexford.

Clare legend Jamesie O'Connor, who spoke to Joe Molloy on Off The Ball on Sunday, felt that the ride home for the Galway hurlers would have been 'the longest bus journey home that some of those guys were ever on'.

Elsewhere on Saturday, defending All-Ireland football champions Tyrone took on Fermanagh, winning by just seven points.

Easter Sunday was filled with Munster hurling action, as Waterford clashed with Tipperary and Limerick faced Cork in two intense championship matches.

Former Tipperary hurler Pádraic Maher spoke with Daithi Boland after Waterford narrowly defeated Tipp in the opening round of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship.

The match of the day, though, was between Cork and Limerick. O'Connor felt that the Cork forwards do not work nearly as hard as the Limerick forwards, and that Cork need to do a lot more to bridge that gap.

With all of the action, many fans and pundits had their say on the opening weekend of the championships. They tuned in to the latest series of late night sports talk, GAA Late Night on Off The Ball Twitter Spaces.
