It has been a roller-coaster few days for Bray wrestler Finn Balor.
The 35-year-old, whose real name is Fergal Devitt, became the WWE's inaugural Universal Champion defeating Set Rollins at SummerSlam in New York.
It was revealed after the match, that Devitt injured his shoulder, which will require surgery. He is not expected to return to the ring until January or February next year.
Due to his injury, @StephMcMahon and I jointly accept @FinnBalor relinquishing of the @WWE Universal Championship. #Raw

The news will come as a major blow to Devitt and the wider WWE. He was only promoted to the main roster last month, and remained unbeaten on his way to winning the Universal Title.
He remains the only wrestler in the history of the company, to win one of the companies' major titles on his Pay-Per-View debut.
Speaking on Monday night when handing back the title he won less that 24 hours earlier, Devitt vowed to return to the ring as quickly as possible.
You can rest assured that @FinnBalor will come back better than EVER for the @WWE #UniversalTitle! #RAW https://t.co/6DB8sDJGp9
