'He's already looking visibly shaken' - Conor McGregor's coach on Jose Aldo

Conor McGregor is not fighting again until July, but the build-up to that huge fight against UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo is well under way as the duo go on a world tour to promote the bout.

Already, McGregor says he has got inside the Brazilian's head with some verbal barbs and tonight on Off The Ball, his coach John Kavanagh saw the light-hearted side of it.

"You can't help but laugh. He had a face-off and then it cut to a backstage and Jose was visibly upset. I had to just shake my head saying 'another one has succumbed to it already' and he's four months out," he said.

"What's he going to be like by the time he gets to Dublin, what's he going to be like by the time he gets to weigh in, what's he going to be like by the time he gets to walk to the cage if he's already looking visibly shaken? And that was in his hometown?"

Kavanagh also suggested that McGregor's energy outisde the octagon is far from an act, adding "he is slightly off his head. He is somewhat psychotic."

But he also praised Aldo, although he sees him as "predictable" and that McGregor is a level above.

Kavanagh also detailed the preparation that is going on behind the scenes as McGregor undertakes media commitments around the globe.

"The only thing that I was interested in was that I wanted someone to travel with him so he could train. So my involvement was making sure I had someone good and Artem Lobov volunteered himself for the first class travel, funnily enough," said Kavanagh, who says he is keeping in touch with McGregor via whatsapp and group chats while he is away, and wants him to get a training session in every day.
