After an injury-ravaged 2013-14, this season marks Kobe Bryant's 19th in the NBA and for LA Lakers.
Just this week, the 36-year-old became the NBA's third highest all-time leading scorer, surpassing Michael Jordan.
Yet he and his team-mates are languishing right at the bottom of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference, having won 8 from 25 to mirror their position last season.
It means, Bryant is unlikely to add to his five NBA titles, even if he is still posting decent individual scores of 25 points per game.
"Kobe, it's pretty clear at this point is out for himself and is going to shoot as much as he can and as much as he wants," said Ryan Jones of Slam! Magazine, who joined us on the line tonight.
According to Jones, the likelihood of Lakers putting together another title-challenging team before Bryant retires is remote, adding that luring Kevin Love from Cleveland is unlikely.
"They're not that much of a draw right now for other top level players. Kobe's going to dominate as far as personality and as far as for shots. I'm not sure how many people want to come and play alongside a guy like that, who's as old as he is and as domineering as he is," he explained.
Jones also gave his perspective on how Lebron James' return to Cleveland Cavaliers is panning out on and off the court.
