'This is a match-maker's dream' - Andy Lee's next opponent on Off The Ball

On April 11th, Ireland's Andy Lee will be looking to defend the WBO Middleweight title he claimed in December.

His opponent in New York that night will be Peter Quillin AKA Kid Chocolate and as the date closes in, the Brooklyn native joined Off The Ball on the line from his training base in California to look ahead to the fight.

"It's a fight that the fans should be happy with. This is a match-makers dream. Andy Lee is a very durable opponent and I'm undefeated still. We'll be looking to secure our legacies and it makes for a good fight," said Quillin.

The 31-year-old also revealed that he and Lee could have fought prior to this April's upcoming bout.

"We've crossed paths once before. We were actually supposed to fight on HBO a couple of years back when Sergio Martinez fought Matthew Macklin. I was supposed to be on the undercard but the business couldn't be done," said Quillin, who also spoke about progressing from an impoverished environment and troubled past (his father was imprisoned when Quillin was 7-years-old) to making it in the boxing arena.

Kid Chocolate also explained why he vacated the belt that Lee would eventually win.

"Having a baby and struggling with family problems at the time. My uncle just passed away a month ago from cancer. I was struggling for that for the last couple of years where we start to note that he was looking different. He started to deteriorate really fast and that was very hard for me," said Quillin.
