McGregor: 'One more head will be collected' in Las Vegas

Conor McGregor says Las Vegas will be a "perfect" venue for his world-title fight in May when "one more head will be collected" against Jose Aldo.

The Dubliner beat Dennis Siver in clinical fashion at UFC Fight Night Boston this morning to guarantee himself a shot at Aldo's featherweight crown.

McGregor had said he would beat German Siver in two minutes before this morning's fight, and while his victory was hugely impressive it didn't meet his prediction. The 26-year-old took almost seven minutes to finish off his opponent, and in retrospect he declared: "I said the two-minute mark but as it came closer I was thinking, ‘I don’t wanna rush this. I want to get in and I want to feel this.'

“This is a record breaking gate for the TD Garden in Boston ... on the weekend that the football is on ... and we still sold that motherfucker out.”

As for that word-title fight against Brazilian Aldo in May: “It’s absolutely perfect,” said McGregor. “The stadium is a dream of mine, a vision of mine. The visions are getting there. I said two minutes, it was two rounds. I’m on to something, just growing with it.

“It’s tradition. I remove a head. I bring it backstage. I place it on Mr (Lorenzo) Fertitta (UFC CEO) Mr and Mr (Dana) White’s (UFC president) desk. Here you go boss, another one done. And then we discuss big business. And big business just happens to be in 'viva Las Vegas'.

“So we are going to go to Las Vegas and one more head will be collected."

Asked if he had come through the Siver bout unscathed, McGregor said: "I’m fresh as a daisy," while sipping from a "twenty grand bottle of whiskey".

"I’m fresh, ready to go again. I’m not playing here. Now it’s time. Now we have a location. Now Jose is the next in line and he will be the next one to learn that it’s not all talk and it’s no joke.

“I said I was a going to kill everyone and wipe out the division. Now we have one man left.”

Following his bout this morning, McGregor went into the crowd to confront Aldo, who was in attendance. "He looks like a little skinny kid from the favela,” added McGregor. “I feel when we collide, he will collapse. The only thing that stopped my from smacking Jose and stiffening him up was the money, cos I love the money.

"He should have come into the fucken Octagon.”

When challenged over his aggressive attitude towards other fighters, including raising his middle finger to Siver prior to this morning's fight, the 26-year-old responded: “I don’t hate any man here.  We are all chasing the same dream.

"Whatever was said between myself and Dennis was build-up. When we came face-to-face and it was time to fight, I put my hand out to touch the glove. I threw my glove out, he didn’t respond, so I said fuck you.”
