Peter Lawrie was on Golf Weekly discussing the most famous people he’s played golf with and said that Samuel L Jackson is probably the most well-known.
When asked what he was like, Lawrie responded: “He was talkative, he looked like a guy who struggled around the golf course though.”
“You know the way you see Tiger Woods and after he’s played a tournament, the next day you see him and he’s struggling to walk. That’s the way Samuel L Jackson carries on.”
Lawrie also confirmed that Jackson was a good golfer adding that he was “mad keen.”
When asked if the amateurs ever have to be told to watch their temper when playing Lawrie said that it wasn’t the issue that could crop up.
“You wouldn’t see an amateur lose the temper, the only thing you'd have to say to them is you’ve hit enough there, pick it up,” said Lawrie. He confirmed that he didn’t have to do that when playing with Jackson though.
Lawrie had also played with Andy Garcia and Chris Evans. Lawrie said that Evans had been “a nice guy” and “full of beans” but had been thrown out due to a “funny” handicap after having won.
