Roger Federer won't retire until at least 2019

Roger Federer won't be retiring until at least 2019.

The 18-time Grand Slam winner has agreed a three-year contract to compete at the Swiss Indoors in Basel.

He will be 38 by the time 2019 comes around.

The 35-year-old has been considering his future in the game following his victory at the Australian Open in Melbourne last month.

But reacting to his three year contract to play at the Swiss Indoors, Federer said: "I cannot wait to return to my home country in the autumn. Playing in Basel is always a highlight of the year."

His triumph over great rival Rafa Nadal at the Australian Open in January extended Federer's Grand Slam record to 18 wins, four more than Pete Sampras and Nadal who occupy second place on the all time list.

Having turned pro in 1998, he has almost hit the 20 year mark at the top level.
