Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic says they played well in last night’s 1-1 draw away to Paris Saint Germain in their last 16 first leg encounter.

Six Nations Rugby

Ireland number eight Jamie Heaslip has accepted an apology from Pascal Papé on twitter.

The French second-row has told Heaslip that he didn't intend to injure him during last Saturday's clash at the Aviva Stadium when he appeared to knee the Leinster captain in the lower back.

The incident has left Heaslip with three fractured vertebrae and Papé will appear before an independent disciplinary panel in London later today.

Golf

The European Tour is expected to announce their next Ryder Cup captain around midday.

Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke and Miguel Angel Jimenez of Spain are thought to be the main contenders to take charge of the team for next year's match at Hazeltine.

Hurling

The quarter-finals of the Fitzgibbon Cup begin today.

Cork IT will play host to NUI Galway in the opening game at 2pm.

And there's a 3 o'clock throw-in in Limerick where UL will take-on UCD.
