WATCH: Conor McGregor slays MMA fighter for pulling out of fight in wild acceptance speech

Conor McGregor was being his searingly honest self last night when he unleashed some ruthless criticisms at a UFC Fighter for pulling out of a title bout.

'The Notorious' was named the Fighter of the Year at the 2016 World MMA Awards last night but McGregor was unable to attend the event and posted his acceptance speech via a pre-recorded video.

After making his apologies for not being present to accept the award, McGregor launched a scathing attack at UFC Heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdrum. The title holder recently pulled out of a title fight against Stipe Miocic which was due to take place next month at what was originally intended to be called UFC 196.

McGregor called out Werdrum for what he believed to be a lack of resolve and determination to face his opponent Miocic in the octagon.

''You got the heavyweight champion, who's a pu--y, pulling out with a sore toe. How is the heavyweight champion going to pull out with a sore toe? What kind of champion is that? The game is on its knees, so I apologize I can't be there at the awards, but I am out here putting it in, working, putting in the true work, the work it takes to keep every one of yous fed.

"So thank you, and thank me.''

Prior to that scolding, McGregor reassured the public that he is still hungry for record-breaking success ahead of his UFC Lightweight title fight against Rafael Dos Anjos.

"There's another man that must be slain, another champion that must be dethroned. There's more numbers that need to be broken. I need to feed all you bums. I need to feed every single one of yous in the game, so I've got to keep working, because yous bums don't work."
