The return of golf to the Olmypics after a 112-year absence has not exactly gone to plan, as a number of the sport's biggest names have turned down their invites.
Among them are Ireland's Shane Lowry, Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell, and while they are by no means the only big names pulling out (Jordan Spieth and Jason Day aren't going either) they are some of the most high-profile ones.
That put them right in the firing line for John Cena as, on Wednesday night, he took aim at all the biggest athletes in sports in his opening monologue at the ESPYs.
While he pointed out the similarities between wrestling and other sports, and lampooned some of the biggest sporting franchises in the United States, he closed on a joke about the three Irish golfers who had pulled out of the Olympics in Rio.
With them all competing at the Open this weekend, they weren't in the crowd to get a shot of their response, but they might not be too bothered about it given recent comments about how they view golf at the Games.
