WATCH: McIlroy overpowers the Quail Hollow course

Rory McIlroy won his tenth tournament on American soil last night with a commanding seven stroke win at the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow.

The Hollywood native beat his own course record on Saturday to shoot a 61 and followed it up with a 69 last night to finish on -21.

McIlroy's dominance was shown on the 16th hole where he tapped in for a birdie on the 514 yard par-4.

Using the PGA Tour's Shot Tracker, we can see that McIlroy's drive of 364 yards dwarfed his playing partner Webb Simpson who drove the ball an excellent 312 yards.

It is McIlroy's second win at the tournament. He also has a second place finish at Quail Hollow after losing in a play off to Rickie Fowler in 2012. The course is already scheduled to host the 2017 PGA Championship, and if McIlroy's record at the course continues, he may expect to add to his major titles at the North Carolina course.
