"He looks like he's pulling a tractor" - Higuain fails to inspire Tim Vickery

Two-and-a-half years out from a record-breaking goal-scoring season with Napoli, Gonzalo Higuain is reportedly set to play for his third club in as many years.

As his successful spell with Juventus was brought to a pre-mature end when the Turin club opted to move for Cristiano Ronaldo, the Argentine forward moved on loan to AC Milan. Demonstrating generally indifferent form under Gennaro Gattuso, Higuain now appears set for a loan move to Chelsea.

31-years-old, one suspects the number of high-profile clubs targeting Higuain will quickly begin to dwindle. However, according to Tim Vickery, a move to the London club will be one too far for a player whose best days may be behind him.

"On the plus side, he would seem to be the type of player Chelsea need," Vickery explained on OTB AM this morning.

"On the negative side, you'd worry about his age going into the Premier League at this stage of his career.

"He is a player who sometimes looks so sluggish ... he looks like he's pulling a tractor, and has a tendency sometimes to put on a little too much weight.

"So I'm a little bit doubtful about whether he can be a consistent goalscorer at this stage of his career in the Premier League."

Alternatively, Vickery does share a greater deal of hope for another Argentine player Chelsea are in the market for, Leandro Paredes.

Currently playing for Zenit St. Petersburg in Russia, Vickery highlighted Paredes' potential usage as a back-up for Jorginho.

With Juventus understandably keen to part with Higuain on a permanent basis, the Italians will be hoping a London move works out better than Vickery suspects, nevertheless.
