The Irish swimmer who reached the semi-final of the 100 metre backstroke on Sunday, set his fastest time in the freestyle this year.

Ryan set a time of 49.82 to finish 0.62 seconds behind Oussama Sahnoune in his heat.
That performance leaves the Team Ireland competitor 16th so far in the heats.
