Sherlock, Wooly and Brady on the weekend's Gaelic football action

Listen to the full chat via the podcast

Mayo and Dublin both prevailed over Roscommon and Laois in their respective provincial ties, but there were moments of discomfort, particularly in Connacht where the Rossies ran Mayo close.

To review those games, Ger and Wooly were joined by ex-Mayo midfielder David Brady and former Dublin forward Jason Sherlock.

Brady described the Roscommon game as "Armageddon at some stages", while Sherlock reckons that James Horan's biggest challenge is to get the right mix between starters and those coming off the bench.

Brady went further saying that he could not remember the last time a "Mayo substitute came on and changed the course of a game."

Wooly also added that one of Alan Dillon or Andy Moran at least should be starting for Mayo.

The lads also discussed the work John Evans has done with his young charges in Roscommon, before turning to Dublin's performance against Laois.

Sherlock believes manager Jim Gavin will be happy with how the game transpired having come through their Championship opener.

Wooly explained that cutting the space in front of the Dubs is the best way to frustrate them.

And off the back of the brawl between Armagh and Cavan, the lads also spoke about the standing position behind the flag.
