Ireland prospect Declan Rice really impressed Kenny Cunningham at Wembley

It was a game ultimately decided by two superb strikes as Pedro Obiang and Son Heung Min's goals saw Tottenham and West Ham share the spoils at Wembley tonight.

Former Ireland defender Kenny Cunningham formed one half of our commentary team alongside Nathan at Wembley and after the 1-1 draw, he shared his view of the game.

"I think it is a fair result. People will point to how much Tottenham dominated possession but that statistic isn't really key for me. They'll point to how many chances they created but how many of those were real clear-cut opportunities? Not too many," he said.

During the match, Kenny also had his say about Ireland youngster Declan Rice, who continued his development at West Ham with another Premier League appearance.

"What I like about Declan is he's two-footed more or less, very comfortable receiving the ball off his left and right side - just a good all-round game," he said.

"He's tenacious, he likes to go and head it and he likes the physical side of the game. He enjoys his defending but also very comfortable in possession of football. And I actually think it opens up a number of options for [Ireland] going forward."

Pointing out how Rice fits in well on the left of a back three at club level, Kenny added: "Going forward, potentially it's a system that we can look at with a number of centre halves of quality who we have coming into the squad. Kevin Long is there already, Ciaran Clark, Shane Duffy, Declan Rice who I expect to make big strides next year as well."
