WATCH: Sport Ireland appear before the Oireachtas Sport Committee as FAI saga rumbles on

Sport Ireland appear before the Oireachtas Sport Committee - the second time in three weeks.

The body, which has suspended funding to the Football Association of Ireland (FAI), will voice their disappointment at the association's refusal to answer important questions at last week's sitting.

They will also announce plans to carry out a potential audit of the association, pending the outcome of reviews into governance and financial matters.

In addition to representatives from Sport Ireland, Sport Minister Shane Ross will also appear as a witness.

Ahead of the meeting, chairman of the committee Fergus O'Dowd said: "The committee has scheduled a meeting with Sport Ireland for the second time in three weeks, and following on from the appearance of the FAI, we hope Sport Ireland will be in a position to update us further.

"The discussion two weeks ago was very insightful, and we expect they will be able to provide answers to the questions which, they did not have information on, at our last meeting.

"Similarly, the input of Minister Ross is an opportunity we very much look forward to."

The hearing gets underway at 12.30pm.
