O'Connor brushes away Castres 'shambles' talk

Leinster head coach Matt O'Connor says there will be no complacency from his team despite being firm favourites against Castres.

Speaking to Off The Ball's Adrian Barry ahead of the weekend's Champions Cup game, the Australian says the fact that the French side is in the Top 14 relegation zone will not impact his side's thinking, highlighting how they put 51 points past Grenoble in October.

"If they're a mess and a shambles, well it's an interesting one. They got quality players. Their motivation would be questionable but at the same time, they're a proud team. We need to make sure that if they have any chinks in their armour, that we're very good at the front of the game and we expose those as early as we can if they're there," he said.

O'Connor also brushed off the criticism he received during Leinster's poor run of form in recent months.

"It's in the nature of the game. It's in the public domain and you're liable to other people's opinions. It doesn't impact on the environment," he said.

O'Connor also spoke about way prop Michael Bent arrived being the "worst thing that happened to him" and spoke about his "unquestionable" work ethic and value to Leinster.
