Deal or No Deal? | Parrott loan, Kepa out, Koulibaly to MUFC

On this morning's edition of Deal or No Deal on OTB AM, we took a deeper look at some of the big football transfer rumours doing the rounds, including a possible loan deal for Troy Parrott.

Phil Egan joined Ger and Eoin for an in-depth focus on a few of the deals proposed in the back pages:

Rising Irish star Troy Parrott is set to go on a season-long loan to Millwall, according to multiple reports overnight.

Millwall finished eighth in the Championship under Gary Rowett in the season just finished, while eighteen-year-old Parrott has three years left on his Spurs deal.

Phil says:

"I think it is a good move... you can see how high the standard is in the Championship. In terms of Millwall, they just missed out on the play-offs, Jayson Molumby was one of the stars in their midfield.

"He stays in London... if he can get into the team then we're going to see exactly what Troy Parrott is made of.

"Does anybody want to see him brought on for five minutes by José Mourinho when things are not going well? We need to see Troy Parrott playing competitive games where he's going to be up against tough defenders in the Championship. I think this would be a good move."

The Times report that Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar, Spurs Jan Vertonghen and Villarreal’s Pau Torres are on Man United’s four-man shortlist of centre-back targets.

Do any of these stand out?

Phil says:

"Torres is an interesting one, 23-years-old and left-footed. Harry Maguire is playing on the left-side of the back four... if you did get Pau Torres you could switch Maguire over.

"Torres is a good player, he has a cap for Spain and is definitely an up-and-coming talent.

"Vertonghen was at Spurs for eight years, his best days are behind him. Koulibaly is the best of those players mentioned, he's 29.

"Maybe Koulibaly is one of those players you bring in and automatically he just makes you better."

Harry Maguire's rating for his first season at United? 7/10

According to reports, Kepa believes that he’s played his last game for Chelsea and that he’s been made a scapegoat for Lampard’s side’s limitations.

Is Kepa a bad goalkeeper or just the fall guy? Is there a road back for the £71.6 million 25-year-old?

Eoin says:

"I think he's a bad goalkeeper isn't he? Have we seen the statistics around Kepa that have essentially gone viral?

"During his 33 Premier League games this season, he let in 47 goals and a save percentage of 55.4 per cent leaves him 127th out of 132 goalkeepers in Europe's top seven leagues.

"Kepa's save percentage has been compared to 729 goalkeepers who have played ten or more matches in England's top flight - Kepa finished last, that is 730th out of 730 goalkeepers.

"He's got the worst save percentage in Premier League history to play ten or more games, he's conceded eight per cent of Chelsea's Premier League goals ever, and for 14 of his 47 goals conceded this season, he didn't move."

Phil says:

Dean Henderson could be an option at Stamford Bridge...

The Irish 24-year-old is being linked with a move to West Ham from QPR - will it happen though?

Phil says:

"Aaron Cresswell isn't getting any younger, [Arthur] Masuaku goes into that bracket of players that are great going forward, not going the other way.

"Ryan Manning is a midfielder, started playing as a left wing-back, obviously QPR in the last few games of the season were playing a back four and Manning was part of that.

"He's comfortable on the ball... and he strikes a mean penalty. It would be a great move for him."

Chances of a move to West Ham: 8/10
