Norwich boss confirms Adam Idah will miss World Cup qualifiers

Adam Idah has officially been ruled out of this month's World Cup qualifiers with Serbia and Luxembourg.

Norwich City manager Daniel Farke confirmed the news on Tuesday afternoon.

Idah has seen a specialist regarding a hernia problem, and will likely require surgery.

Ireland manager Stephen Kenny names his squad on Thursday for this month's trio of games, and is already without a host of potential starters.

Idah joins an absentee list that includes Aaron Connolly, James McClean, Darren Randolph and John Egan.

The first game of the campaign comes away to Serbia on March 24, before Luxembourg visit the Aviva three days later.

Ireland then face a trip to Debrecen in Hungary to play Qatar in a friendly.

Farke told a press conference, "It's quite likely Adam Idah will see another specialist and likely need surgery on his hernia.

"If so, we'll do it straight away and he won't be available for Republic of Ireland."
