Open success hasn't changed me - Shane Lowry

Shane Lowry says becoming a major winner hasn't changed him as a person.

The Open champion makes his return to the European Tour this week when he tees it up at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

Lowry intends to play five or six more tournaments in Europe before the end of the season in a bid to became Race to Dubai champion.

And the Offaly man says it's all been positive since he landed the Claret Jug at Royal Portrush.

"I'm fairly recognisable with my beard and stuff but I'm out and about and I still do all my normal things day to day.

"I drop my daughter Iris to school and pick her up and we go to the playground and we go for a coffee, I do get stopped a little bit more. I actually bring her with me so I don't have to stop and talk all the time because she's running around!

"But I think I've taken it all in my stride pretty well and handled it over the last few weeks and going forward we'll see what it's like".

Lowry, who sits in third place on the Race to Dubai standings, has also confirmed that he'll have a busy schedule for the rest of 2019.

"I'm playing Dunhill next week, the Italian Open, the Zozo, China and then definitely two of the last three tournaments, I'm not sure yet about Turkey or South Africa.

"They're all huge events and ones which I'll need to do well in if I'm going to win the Race to Dubai".
